Venison steak salad with candied pecans


  • 3 oz of venison steak cut into strips or chunks
  • Montreal seasoning
  • 2 cups mixed salad greens
  • 2 tbsp blue cheese crumbles
  • 2 tbsp chopped candied pecans
  • 3 tbsp balsamic vinaigrette
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • caramelized onions (optional)


  1. Coat both sides of steak in Montreal seasoning
  2. Heat olive oil in a frying pan and cook steak until it’s brown on both sides
  3. Spread mixed greens evenly on a plate and place steak on top
  4. sprinkle on blue cheese crumbles and candied pecans and top with balsamic vinaigrette
